Bayern Munich are set to provide competition for City in attempts to sign Edinson Cavani, according to today’s press reports.

Cavani, who has scored 25 goals in 27 appearances for Napoli, is now a familiar name in transfer speculation for Blues fans.But the Daily Express reports that the German giants are providing Pep Guardiola with a large transfer kitty when he arrives in the summer.




“The Citizens are looking to make a couple of big-name signings this summer and Cavani is near the top of their wish-list.“But affluent Bayern Munich are also vying for his signature, as they look to open the Pep Guardiola era in some style,” writes the paper’s Charles Perrin.The same paper also reports that Barcelona are interested in another City target, Roma defender Marqinhos.Perrin notes: “The Citizens are believed to be planning a major clear-out in the summer, with Joleon Lescott among those who could leave the Etihad.
