Chelsea Preparing Big Money Move to Sign German Star

Chelsea are preparing a move for Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez at the end of the season, according to talkSPORT. The 27-year-old has been in impressive form for the Bundesliga giants in the last two seasons, scoring 40 and 39 goals in all competitions during 2011/12 and 2010/11 season respectively.

The report suggests Roman Abramovich is preparing a big money move this summer to bring German international to Stramford Bride. Chelsea are reportedly considering a bid of £36m to bring the goal scoring machine to west London as Gomez is reportedly set to leave Allianz Arena once Pep Guardiola takes in charge at the club.
Meanwhile, the ex-Stuttgart player has failed to make an impact in the current campaign for Jupp Heynckes' side as the forward return to the first team in November, after being ruled out with injury. Gomez has lost his place to Mario Mandzukic in Bayern's starting line up. The German striker has started just six games (17 overall) and scored eight goals in all competitions this season.

The west London club has the services of January singing Demba Ba and ex-Liverpool man Fernando Torres in their attacking division. However, the Spanish international has failed to match his performance with the £50m price tag, which has reportedly frustrated the club's fans, administration and their owner.Chelsea are also interested in signing Tottenham striker target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang while the Blues forward Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan with West Brom, has now set his eyes on returning to the Bridge this summer.

Luiz Helping Oscar to Improve His Game

Meanwhile, David Luiz has extended his support to Oscar to improve his game. The Brazilian international believes his compatriot's shyness is hindering him to showcase his true potential on the field.

"I try to help him every day with this [his shyness]. I tell him he's an amazing player with the talent to make the difference and change every game. I tell him to be happy and trust in his football. Some players need this. My job is to give confidence to the guys like Oscar. He is so shy but I say, 'come on, you have the quality to be in a side with the best players in the world and you have the opportunity to show that," Goal.com quoted Luiz as saying.
