Jose Mourinho has edged closer to a Chelsea return after reaching an agreement with owner Roman Abramovich.

The ‘special one’ hinted earlier this week that that his next job would be somewhere where he has managed before, with the destination looking very likely to be Stamford Bridge. It is believed that the pair have brushed their differences to one side and plans are underway which would see the Real Madrid replace Rafael Benitez on a three-year deal.According to the Metro,  Mourinho has insisted that the Blues must finish in the top four as he has no time for a team who are not playing Champions League football.

The Portuguese manager is also concerned about the influence that technical director Michael Emenalo and chief executive Ron Gourlay have on the club.

Obstacles
Mourinho is also believed to be in discussion with Paris St Germain about becoming their next manager, should the Ligue 1 side opt to get rid of Carlo Ancelotti this summer.Even with obstacles which could possibly detract Mourinho from returning to Chelsea, the signs point in favour of him becoming the next Chelsea manager. The Metro reported Mourinho saying: “Again, I can’t deny in spite of this disgraceful weather I love it here [London] and I have big emotional connections with Chelsea.

“One day I think naturally I have to be back to English football – to Chelsea or to another club. Of course Chelsea means for me differently than the other clubs.
“Chelsea is in my heart as Inter is for example. So one day I have to be back.”
