Some Common Mistake(s) That Jambites Make When Filling The Registration Form

Our experience with the JAMB UTME examination board, has open to us so many mistake(s) admission seekers make during the course of completing their registration form;
Most of these persons believe that itdoesn’t matter, while some feel the board(JAMB) will understand.

Now we want to tell you that, “Any silly little mistake can cause you extra one year at home!!!”
Below are most common mistakes Jambites make while filling Jamb’sregistrat ion form;

1. Selection Of One University & Polytechnic As First and Second Choice: We urge all Jambites on our page that they should not selectone university and polytechnic as their first and second choice. If you have done so, then the tendency of you getting admission is just 20% because any little mistake, “then you’re off the hook”. Reason why we said so is because, you know that you’ll only have one Post Ume to write and the moment you fail or you don’t reach the cut off mark of your course, mehn we’re sorry to say, its extra one year at home for you.

2. Selection Of State University or Polytechnic As First Choice Instead Of Federal: Please, we beg of you; Don’t choose state university as your first choice and federal university as your second choice. This is one mistake that jambite newbies do make.
NOTE: Before you fill your jamb form, always check your Brochure to know which is “Federal University and Polytechnic” and which is “State University and Polytechnic”. Let’s take for example, “Unilag” is a federal university while “Lasu” is state university but they both are in Lagos.
All Federal University or Polytechnic doesn’t accept their Institute to be selected as second choice.

3. Selection Of Wrong Subject Combination For A Particular Course: This is a top mistake that has always been made by Jambites. When ever you’re registering for Jamb, you’ll be given a “Brochure” or a”Jamb disk”. These things are not just for fun, it is used to guide youin making the right selection before you fill in your four subjects for any course. Check your brochure for that course and see the subjects needed.

Let’s take for example; you want to write Jamb with Medicine as your choicecourse and you went ahead to choose “Mathematics, Use of English, Chemistry and Biology” as your subject combination. What where you thinking? Then after successfully passing Jamb andPost UME, you’ll be surprised with the course your choice school would gives you to study,”Computer Science”.

4. Selection of Nigerian Universities That Do Not Accept Second (2nd) Choice Candidates: This is also one major mistake that Jambites also make when filling the Jamb registration form.
Below are the list of Nigerian Universities that do not accept second(2nd) Choice Candidates

- University of Ibadan, UI
- Nnamdi Azikiwe University, NAU, Unizik
