It seems Serie A will go back to how it was in the 1990s and early 2000s, with Juventus and Milan battling it out for the top spot each year.

These two clubs will be the most competitive throughout the next few years, as both have managed to sign young, up-and-coming superstars who will change the Calcio landscape for years to come.
In recent decades, the two clubs have produced a plethora of memorable matches, most famously: the 2003 Champions League final which Milan won in dramatic fashion.

More recently, the rivalry has picked up intensity after a few years where Juventus was just fighting to get into Europe. Overpaid stars and goofy transfers were made up for by Beppe Marotta, as he constructed a team alongside Antonio Conte which went on a near historic 49-match undefeated streak.

Last season, Milan fans blamed the Bianconeri for losing the Scudetto, as memories of Sulley Muntari's phantom goal still burn an inconsolable hole for Milanisti. You have to wonder how Serie A would've finished had the referee not committed an unforgivable error of that magnitude.

A back-and-forth battle of words between the two clubs ensued, making weekly headlines and wearing out its welcome a year later. These verbal attacks climaxed when Juventus coach Antonio Conte called Adriano Galliani and Milan "the mafia of calcio."Despite attacks of this nature, tensions between the two clubs have died down. Recently, Adriano Galliani said he was rooting for Juventus in the Champions League, as it was the club he supported as a youngster.Recently, matches between the two clubs have produced some memorable moments. Milan managed to win 1-0 against a favored Juventus side in the first half of the season, shortly after their 49-match undefeated streak was ended at the hands of yet another bitter rival: Inter.

After that, Juventus would get their revenge when they knocked Milan out of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. The match went to 120 minutes and was played with the intensity of a World Cup final. These are all signs that the future will see these two historic clubs battling it out for the Scudetto each year. A strong Summer transfer window from Inter could bring them into the mix as well, but right now these are the two teams which will cause the biggest domestic dent.
