The health of Pacific, castaway who claims he spent more than a year
adrift, has deteriorated, delaying his repatriation, a doctor treating
him has said.
Jose Salvador Alvarenga gave his first public press conference, where
he thanked Marshall Islands officials, but his handlers said he was
much less animated than in the past few days.
His doctor said his health has gone downhill in the previous 24
hours. He is on an IV drip for dehydration and is being monitored for
infections, Reliable Click reports.
"I'd like to give thanks to the government of this place, for their
support. They gave me support. Thanks for taking care of me, I feel
better. That's it, " said Alvarenga.
