Dstl is responsible for designing, developing and applying the very latest in science and technology for the benefit of UK defence and security, across government. We work with the best people with the best ideas around the world – from very small companies to world-class universities, huge defence companies and sometimes other nations. Together we develop battle-winning technologies, based on deep and widespread research, to support UK military operations, now and in the future.
Information and Intelligence (I2) Science and Technology is a growing force, with interest expanding rapidly across government, industry, and academia. The increasing quantity of data available offers the potential for a new level of understanding of the world, as well as new security challenges. Now we need talented individuals to help us solve the complex challenges these new developments create. In a globalised, information-rich world, you will enable the military and others to protect the UK’s national security far into the future.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills in the cutting edge field of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance as you work across the MOD and government and with our partners in industry, academia, and abroad. You will take part in a range of projects from direct support to national security that will exploit the capabilities of sensors, create the architecture to collaborate with our allies, and extract, fuse, and represent information as high grade intelligence.
We’re looking for high calibre individuals bringing expertise in programming ability, information management, computer science, systems engineering, mathematics, intelligence analysis, sensor technologies, geospatial analysis, full-stack development or related disciplines. This may be at graduate, postgraduate, PhD, or post-doctoral level. Your strong relationship building skills will enable you to educate a non-specialist audience across government and form influential relationships with a broad range of military stakeholders.
Along with a competitive salary, we offer child care vouchers, on site gyms and restaurants, flexible working, generous leave and excellent learning and development opportunities – as well as a good pension scheme.
