Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore came back into form on Saturday night with a brace for the USA against Nigeria.
And, it was a significant friendly match for another Premier League based USA star as Tim Howard, the experienced Everton goalkeeper, made his 100th international appearance for Team America.
Howard will have been disappointed to concede a late penalty to Victor Moses but a 2-1 victory should have buoyed Jurgen Klinsmann’s side ahead of the World Cup.
The USA fans in attendance in Florida came to the match with a terrific banner that can be seen above: showing the Everton custodian on a $100 bill!
And, the official USMNT YouTube channel pulled out a rather cool montage video, including some of Tim Howard’s earliest as well as most impressive saves for the national team.
