Reds winning transfer battle with Man United and Chelsea for midfield ace.
Liverpool are preparing a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, according to The Metro.
The 27-year-old has also been linked with interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, the Reds believe that they are leading the race for his signature and are confident that their £15m offer will be accepted by the La Liga giants.
Khedira is currently with the Germany squad at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
He played the full 90 minutes on Monday, as the three-time world champions hammered Portugal 4-0 in Salvador, and he is also likely to start against Ghana tomorrow.
However, the last 18 months of his career have been heavily disrupted by injury and Real have apparently had enough.
Khedira would bring with him a wealth of experience to Anfield. He has been capped 47 times at senior international level and has won one Bundesliga title, one La Liga, two Copa del Reys and one Champions League.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is determined to strengthen his squad this summer in preparation for his side’s return to European football.
The Reds only played 43 competitive matches this season, but their squad will have to cope with a lot more fixtures next term.
