Do you possess a Degree or equivalent in Engineering within the disciplines of Production/Manufacturing/Bio Medical? Perhaps you hold a non-specific science degree and can demonstrate a commercial biotechnology background in a manufacturing / laboratory environment. More importantly you will be confident with rack-and-stack ATE systems and able to fault-find ATE systems down to component level by substituting boards.

Our client, the leading manufacturer of label free semiconductor driven sequencing products, is seeking to appoint an experienced manufacturing technician with a solid background in biotechnology and NPD. Primarily in this role you would be responsible for ATE testing, the assembly of devices and other product development activity, towards the company’s goal of a rapid, portable, genetic testing device.
Within this, duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• To cover the specific processes within the manufacturing (ATE Testing, Cartridge Assembly, Assembling/Preparing/Packaging of Sample Preparation Kit Trays and Assisting in Reaction Tubes Manufacturing by following the SOPs )
• Confident with rack-and-stack ATE systems and able to fault-find ATE systems down to component level by substituting boards
• To fulfil the ongoing demand of assembled parts from various groups or team within the company or by external contractor
• To support Manufacturing Manager on the ongoing stock control and inventory management activity
• Test the incoming and outgoing parts to make sure that the parts are fulfilling the QC/QA requirements
• To dispatch/receive incoming bqc’s from external contractor and deal with the paper work as required
• Ensure equipment is in working order and are re-filled/replaced regularly with in the Prep-Lab (UV, Nitrogen and etc.)
• Ability to cover the other processes (the analyser assembly and testing) as per the demand for the device
• Abide by company procedures and site-specific procedures including those pertaining to Health and Safety

Required Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering (i.e. Production/Manufacturing/Bio Medical) or Science and considerable experience in a Manufacturing / Laboratory environment
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word)
• Good communication skills to communicate across upward and downwards in the organisation
• Able to use your analytical, methodical, organised and pro-active approach to help the manufacturing team
• Ability to have the drive, resilience, flexibility and adaptability to maintain focus on key manufacturing objectives
