We are currently looking to recruit two Process reliability engineers to join our engineering department in Liverpool.
Position Summary:
  • Working within the UK 1 Engineering and Facilities Function, this position provides professional engineering support to the MedImmune UK1 manufacturing facility. As a member of the existing technical team the position proactively contributes to the development of providing a World Class service to the site, ensuring an uninterrupted, stable and reliable operation of the UK1 Manufacturing processes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Comply with required standards with respect to documentation, good housekeeping, cGMP, health and safety, timekeeping, regulatory legislative requirements and in accordance with the rules and requirements of the GMP Compliance Rulebook, the Code of Conduct, quality manual and any other company policies and procedures.
Take ownership of, and be responsible for, all actions undertaken as part of the role, to ensure commitments to the organisation and colleagues are always met.
Ensure Operational Excellence is integrated into the team's responsibilities. This should include adopting a philosophy of continuous improvement and a "Right First Time From Me" attitude to all operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for: 
  • Providing technical support and expertise to aid in technical investigations for the Maintenance Engineering and Facility plant and production equipment -- included but not limited to the specialist manufacturing process equipment -- e.g. Centrifuges, Automated Harvester materials handling and inspection systems.
  • Ensuring proactive support to ensure that the automation / process equipment performs to the highest level of reliability, repeatability whilst maintaining compliance to meet the demand on the manufacturing schedule.
  • Facilitating the delivery of cross functional continuous improvement initiatives to ensure process robustness and repeatability.
  • Development and delivery of the training and development of both Engineering Maintenance Technicians and Manufacturing team members to improve process and equipment awareness.

  • In collaboration with the Engineering Maintenance Leadership Team provide professional Engineering support to a demanding internal customer base, ensuring compliance with regulatory and MedImmune Quality System requirements, use of best Engineering practice and timely completion to the highest standard.
  • Coordination and supervision of externally provided support / service contracts, including the planning, co-ordination and hosting of visiting Engineers.
  • Representing the Engineering and Maintenance department on cross functional project teams delivering process, system and equipment improvements.
  • Ensuring that all Engineering & Maintenance activities are performed to EHS requirements.

Education:
  • Successful candidates may be Chartered and shall be degree educated in either mechanical or electrical & instrumentation engineering discipline.
Experience:
  • Extensive level of experience in Mechanical and / or Electrical Maintenance Engineering, within a Pharma or Biotech industry.
  • Successful applicants shall be of a Subject Matter expert with their field of specialism
  • Successful applicants must have people management experience of controlling visiting contractors, safe working methods and practices, the use of Permit to Work systems, including the reviewing of safe working methods and associated risk assessments.
  • Must be familiar with the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment for Pharma and / or Biotech facility, knowledge of GXP systems and practices, facility services and validation.
