Our client consists of over 21 companies operating in 18 countries. The group has been establishing skin care systems for all workplace and public environments and have been offering bespoke products to a range of industries for over 65 years.

We are currently working in partnership to recruit a hard-working and driven Project Engineer, preferably with an electrical or maintenance background to join their existing team on a permanent basis.


In this role you will be responsible for:
- Identifying developing and implementing capital investment projects, new products and new equipment installations into manufacturing and leading on continuous improvement activities.

- Managing the capital project budget so some experience of working within budget constraints and managing a budget would also be key. You will work closely with the site Production, Maintenance teams and transient project teams and so you will need to have excellent time management, organisational and communication skills and be confident to manage resources, including contractors on site.

- Review plant and processes within the department to continually improve all aspects of efficiency, waste/yield, quality, service and safety.

- Lead on the implementation of capital investment projects from the concept through to the execution phases.

- Develop and establish best practice engineering standards with the site engineering manager.

- Lead aspects of energy reduction and utility optimisation at on site.

- Align manufacturing process activities with Lean Manufacturing principles, ISO9001 quality standards, ISO14001 environmental standards, and GMP (ISO22715) principles.

- Implementation planning and delivery of NPD & EPD projects into manufacturing.

- Development of maintenance programmes with the site engineering manager and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the manufacturing strategic objectives.

- Continual improvement of processes and procedures, to support manufacturing improvement particularly relating to capital investment projects.

- Undertaking lead role on validation programmes for new equipment installations and new process implementations.


Essential Experience/Qualifications:
- Experienced project engineer with a chemical, electrical or mechanical background in engineering-electrical bias preferred. Previous experience in maintenance would also be advantageous
- Experienced project engineer, with a proven track record in managing capital projects from concept to the execution phase, ideally within a large liquids processing and filling company background
- Experience of plant installation projects, involving high levels of automation
- Experience of lean manufacturing processes and tools
- Previous experience of working in an environment which operates to the highest standards of health and safety, hygiene and ISO compliance
- Relevant engineering degree with experience in chemical/process engineering within an automated manufacturing environment
- Excellent written/spoken English and numerical ability
- Formal project management training qualification advantageous
