LUCKY winners of a two-month Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup promotion left Dar es Salaam for Brazil on Thursday night to watch live a quarterfinal match of the ongoing 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The ticket winners from various regions of the country are entitled to free return air tickets, meals and accommodation and match tickets, courtesy of Coca-Cola which is the exclusive beverage partner of the world football governing body - FIFA.
Those who flew out for the memorable trip include Mathias Kimaro from Dodoma, William Kaswamila (Dar es Salaam), Rukia Sembade (Morogoro), Deogratias Nabigambo, Salum Yahya Salum, Jasmeh Noah (Mwanza), Lilian Mrangu, Innocent Tairo and Dennis Mfumbilwa (Moshi).
Apart from the world cup tickets, the Coca-Cola World Cup promotion had a variety of other hefty prizes on offer including modern 32 inch Sony Led TV sets whose lucky winners and families are now using to watch live televised FIFA World Cup matches from Brazil. Other prizes were footballs and T-shirts.
"This consumer promotion has been successful and offered us yet another opportunity to interact closely with its customers and consumers throughout the country," says Coca-Cola Brand Manager Tanzania, Maurice Njowoka.
He said that by engaging customers and consumers in the promotion dubbed "Jionee Mwenyewe Kombe la FIFA la Dunia," Coca-Cola made it possible for Tanzania football fans to join their counterparts in the world to celebrate the passion and excitement that is associated with the FIFA World Cup.
The Coca-Cola Company is one of the longest-standing corporate partners of FIFA, with a formal association since 1974 and an official sponsorship of the FIFA World Cup that began in 1978.
