Arsenal fans pinch yourselves because we think you might just be dreaming. Unless you’re the worst supporter in the world you’ll be all too aware that Arsene Wenger bucked a recent financial trend at the club and splashed out £35million to secure the services of Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez yesterday.
Khedira and Remy deals
This morning it’s more good news coming from the Emirates Stadium as the Daily Express claims that the Gunners are in talks with both Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira and QPR’s Loic Remy as Wenger looks to ensure that his team are capable of sustaining a credible charge for the Premier League title. 
Over the last few days Spanish sources have appeared confident that Arsenal will agree a deal for Khedira if they can match his one hundred and fifty thousand pound a week wage demands, whilst Remy will definitely leave his club this summer, though Newcastle have also mounted a late bid.
Costing a combined fee of £32million (Khedira is worth £24million whilst Remy has a buy-out clause of £8million, if Wenger manages to land both men it will once and for all rubbish the idea that Arsenal are still a club afraid to spend money. With Sanchez already on the books Wenger has significantly bolstered his creative threat, and Remy would fit in nicely when it comes to giving compatriot Olivier Giroud competition for his place.
As for Khedira few will contest that he's not a world-class defensive midfielder and, with Thomas Vermaelen looking likely to leave the club in the near future, and Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini firmly in the twilight of their careers, the Gunners will need his discipline in front of the back four.
Debuchy to be confirmed?
In other news France defender Mathieu Debuchy looks like he will become the second major purchase of the window, as reports suggest he has completed a medical and will be unveiled shortly. The 28-year-old is seen as the ideal replacement for Bacary Sagna, who of course joined Manchester City last month.
It's thought that Debuchy has already signalled his intent to leave Newcastle to further his ambitions, and a move to Arsenal - which also promises Champions League football - would give him the opportunity to do just that.
