The Enterprise Genomics Solutions Group (EGS), is a leading global Genomics Medicine Enterprise Services provider, providing numerous customized population-scale infrastructure and scientific projects globally.
The Global Business Development Leader (GBDL) will serve as the de facto Commercial Leader for EGS and is fully-dedicated and responsible for building our market position by identifying, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business opportunities. In many cases, the GBDL will serve as the primary commercial interface between EGS and the customer.
The GBDL will manage projects with high complexity and high risk for EGS and will be responsible for developing and leading international commercial business. This role will oversee a significant number of projects at any given time across all phases of development and commercialization. Activities include planning towards milestones, and responsible for top line P&L revenue.
The GBDL reports to the General Manager of EGS and serves as critical member of the EGS Leadership team, and will have the opportunity to work at C-Level across global governments (both political and healthcare) to propose and shape national projects, and lead large, complex, multi-million dollar contracts at a national level. The right candidate will aspire to be at the forefront of a healthcare revolution – the first real paradigm shift since the discovery of antibiotics. The GBDL will develop a KOL network in the emerging area of ‘personalized medicine,’ focusing on application of Genetic Analysis technology in the clinical market.
RESPONSIBILITES:

RESPONSIBILITES:
- Build and maintain an opportunity funnel.
- Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
- Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending investment opportunities.
- Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
- Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts and purchase orders (including pricing recommendations); integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Support the scientific team in the writing of customer proposals for all current and opportunity business, particularly by offering a deal structure, commercial perspective and pricing recommendation.
- Partner with the broader Commercial organization to support EGS-related opportunities that originate from within the broader Commercial organization
- Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
- Support top management by identifying and evaluating new business opportunities that fit with strategy.
- Provide input into the development of wider business unit and corporate strategy
- Develop and lead external presentations of EGS proposals to prospective customers.
- Prepare internal reviews, including substantial quantitative and qualitative analysis of opportunities to include competitive intelligence.
- Minimum 5 years business development/complex sales/key account management experience with outstanding results.
- Basic understanding of genetic analysis essential.
- Basic understanding of economics important, health economics a major plus.
- Knowledgeable in budget and finance processes.
- Ability to drive decision-making cross-functional, cross-divisional and cross-cultural, and requires global mindset and cultural awareness in working with senior leadership in other regions and in managing cross-regional projects.
- Ability to adapt to other personalities in a respectful manner that is conducive to goal achievement.
- Multi-faceted background with direct involvement or experience working with multiple functions (i.e. R&D, business development, commercial/marketing).
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus while maintaining positive working relationships across functions; negotiation and strong persuasive abilities.
- Strong written and verbal Communication Skills: ability to express oneself clearly and concisely to external partners; ability to adjust language and/or terminology appropriate for the audience; Demonstrated ability to clearly and concisely communicate/present key information to senior management.
- Strategic Implementation: ability to develop, implement and monitor commercial strategy and integrate this strategy with global corporate goals.
- Leadership Skills: develop and use knowledge and interpersonal skills to influence and guide others towards the accomplishment of EGS goals and objectives. Requires the flexibility and tolerance to best manage change and differing opinions with diplomacy and competence.

- Minimum B.A. in business or natural sciences, or a related field.
- Educational background/experience in NGS, genomics, bioinformatics or statistical genetics (or equivalent) a major plus.
- Advanced scientific degree, in Life Sciences a plus
- Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. International travel required.
- Requires approximately 50 % of travel.
Minimum Qualifications (must have)
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
· Minimum B.A. in business or natural sciences, or a related field.
· Educational background/experience in NGS, genomics, bioinformatics or statistical genetics (or equivalent) a major plus.
· Advanced scientific degree, in Life Sciences a plus.
