My client is a worldwide drinks manufacturer looking for a Technical Scientist with industry experience working HPLC to join their Analytical Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Management

- Maintenance of laboratory work area and equipment to high standards
- Day-to-day management of the equipment service, maintenance and calibration programme
- Maintain up-to-date laboratory SOPs and manuals
- Maintain a high standard of record keeping and traceability
- Provide expertise in analytical procedures and operation of laboratory equipment
- Identify means of improving the analytical service to meet business objectives.


Annual surveillance programme

- Organise, track and deliver the analytical surveillance programme against the annual plan
- Log global ASP data into LIMS database, prepare annual reports
- Communicate results and interpretation to customers in a timely manner.

Analytical services

- Carry out analyses for internal customers
- Organise and conduct the taint / shelf life testing programme for PERs and projects
- Communicate results and interpretation to customers in a timely manner
- Keep analytical database on company products up to date
- Acquire and demonstrate detailed understanding of products and raw materials


The successful candidate will:

- Be qualified to degree level or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science or related science discipline
- Have working knowledge of organic, physical and analytical chemistry
- Have professional approach and good interpersonal skills
- Have a working knowledge of analytical measurements including safety procedures, data recording and calibration of equipment
- Be practical analytical, with R&D and technical experience within the food industry
- Be pro-active, organised, time and detail conscious approach is essential
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have a thirst for knowledge
- A great deal of energy and enthusiasm.
