(SENIOR) SCIENTIST - STATISTICIAN

THE OPPORTUNITY
You will join the Product and Process Quality (PPQ) group of Philip Morris International Management S.A. in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, whose mission is to maintain standards, methods and procedures to assure efficient manufacturing of high quality products. PPQ group supports the factories around the world as well the central functions.
Your responsibilities include assessing changes in our manufacturing process and validating new equipment by working closely with our engineering team, maintaining and developing quality indexes, supporting our physical and chemical laboratories for method validation and evaluation of collaborative studies.
You will be working in collaboration with scientists and engineers of different disciplines within cross-functional work-streams.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING
  • You are fully familiar with statistical modeling, multivariate analysis and design of experiments (DoE). You have a good knowledge of various statistical software packages (e.g. SAS, S-Plus, etc.)
  • Additional studies of natural science such as Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Engineering would be a great asset
  • You are able to quickly seize the essence of scientific and technical matters and to develop tailor-made statistical approaches that match the needs of subject matter experts
  • You are comfortable in clearly presenting complex statistical topics, results and conclusions to technicians, scientists and engineers of various domains, both in written format and orally
  • You have excellent presentation skills
  • Fluency in both oral and written English is a must. Knowledge of French would be an asset
