Loic Remy has jetted to Boston to complete the formalities of his £8.5m switch from Premier League new boys QPR.
The Frenchman - who spent last season on-loan at Newcastle - previously attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
But he is now close to agreeing terms on a move to Anfield and will undergo a medical ahead of becoming manager Brendan Rodgers' fifth signing of the summer.
Starsport expect Liverpool to follow up the signing of Remy by completing a deal for Belgium starlet Divock Origi.
Although Origi's father, Mike, has claimed a transfer is far from done, Starsport understands the 19-year-old has flown to Boston to finalise a £10m switch.
Origi, however, will return to current club Lille on a season-long loan as part of the agreement Liverpool have struck with the French outfit.
Liverpool remain confident of sealing a deal for Southampton defender Dejan Lovren in the next 48 hours.
The Reds have agreed a £16m fee with the Saints for Lovren - although the amount paid could rise to as much as £20m depending on appearances and honours.
Saints boss Ronald Koeman has, however, attempted to pour cold water on Lovren's proposed switch to Liverpool by claiming they are yet to receive a new bid for the Croatia defender.
Fabio Borini is set to snub a £14m move to Sunderland as he wants to force himself into Rodgers' first-team plans.
The Italian enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season, but is confident he can force his way into contention following the £75m departure of Luis Suarez.
And finally defender Andre Wisdom has completed a season-long loan move to West Brom.
Wisdom spent last season on-loan at Derby County and will be given the chance to compete in the top flight on a regular basis at the Hawthorns.
