An opportunity has become available for a Senior Scientist to join the Study Direction team specialising in Stability Studies conducted by our Analytical Services team. As a Senior Scientist you will carry out stability, formulation and forced degradation studies in support of process and product development for antibodies and other recombinant proteins being manufactured by Lonza Biologics.
Key aspects of the role include:
· Single point of control through analytical study lifecycle, especially biopharmaceutical product stability studies conducted according to ICH guidelines.
· Knowledge of biopharmaceutical analysis as appropriate to characterisation, method development and validation studies is beneficial.
· Write and review of study protocols, reports, SOPs and policies as appropriate to level of experience.
· Plan activities effectively to maintain study timelines – plan activities and deliverables and prioritise as appropriate.
· Study direct multiple studies effectively at the same time.
· Talk to customers about specific study results as required in support of analytical product manager.
· Scientific interpretation of data, out of specification and atypical result investigations, experience of operating in a quality management system.
· Coach and mentor junior scientists in laboratory sciences and protein chemistry groups to generate data for studies.
· Coach and mentor study directors to write protocols and reports for studies they are training in and evaluate the effectiveness of the training.
· Support customer audits and regulatory as required with support from lead scientists and managers.
· Knowledge / experience of performing protein analysis including some or all of the following techniques: SDS PAGE, IEF, GP / RPHPLC, Spectrophotometry, Visual tests, peptide mapping, oligosaccharide profiling
· Prior experience of study directing in a GLP/GMP environment
· Experience of effective written communication, reporting clear, well constructed data that is accurately interpreted
· Proven track record of work planning and the ability to proactively highlight issues with studies.
