An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Development Scientist to join our Analytical Services department. You will carry out characterization and method development work in support of process and product development for antibodies and other recombinant proteins being manufactured. This is primarily a laboratory based role.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be involved in supporting the teams core activities, which primarily involves the testing of process related samples for characterisation and comparability studies but may also extend to assay transfers, assay evaluations, sample stability, assay validation and method development.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Carry out multiple laboratory based assays each week and complete the data processing for these assays in a timely manner
Demonstrate excellent levels of accuracy and quality through a high right first time pass rate
Carry out technical review of others work
Play a key role in trouble shooting, both by supporting more junior colleagues and by leading investigations.
Support the implementation of new technologies and keep up to date with industry standards
Lead laboratory maintenance and improvement initiatives, supporting all platforms
Mentor and train team members as well as sharing scientific knowledge through team forums and presentations.
Qualifications
Extensive experience using a range of techniques to perform protein
analysis is essential. Techniques should include: SDS PAGE, icIEF, GPC,
Peptide mapping, IgG fragment analysis and N terminal sequencing
(experience of several of these techniques is essential)
Considerable HPLC experience.
Experience of working in a GMP environment
Experience of working with electronic systems and IDBS software to record
data and Empower software
Demonstrated ability to lead scientific projects
Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot analytical methods & equipment.
