With Ronaldinho becoming a free agent earlier this week, rescinding his contract with Atletico Mineiro by mutual consent, the two-time Ballon D’Or is expected to make the short trip north of the equator to the US of A.
Brazilian site UOL claim that Dinho is close to joining MLS franchise New York Red Bulls, with brother and agent Assis negotiating the move.
UOL claim Assis is negotiating a 2.25m Euro salary for his brother, making him one of the three designated players MLS sides are allowed to pay above the salary cap.
If Ronaldinho does complete the move to NY Red Bulls, he’ll be reunited with fellow Barcelona old boy Thierry Henry.
