HUGO LLORIS will not be leaving Tottenham before the end of the transfer window, according to manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Lloris has been heavily linked with Manchester United because of the uncertainty surrounding David de Gea's future at Old Trafford.
However, Pochettino dismissed talk of the 28-year-old leaving the club and insists he is happy to remain at White Hart Lane.
"There are a lot of rumours. (But) Hugo is very happy to be here.
"His commitment with the club is high. I think we need to be happy because if Manchester United want Lloris, it's because he's a great goalkeeper."
United have put their trust in new signing Sergio Romero for the first two games of the season.
And Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal says De Gea will not be considered for selection before the close of the transfer window.
But the summer's longest running transfer saga appears no closer to being resolved.
The Spaniard, 24, has been accused of not being mentally ready because of interest from Real Madrid.
The Barclays Premier League
Tue, August 11, 2015All of the goals and controversy from this season's Barclays Premier League matches.
Despite the reluctance to play him before his future is sorted, the Premier League giants are said to be standing firm and are eager to keep him.
If he does go, Lloris was thought to be their top target but United could now be left frustrated by any pursuit of the Frenchman.
Meanwhile, they are close to finalising a deal for Pedro from Barcelona and are reportedly still in the market for a new defender.
