Rumours of Antonio Conte becoming the next permanent manager of Chelsea has provided fertile ground for transfer claims, and several Serie A players have already been linked to the London club.
The likes of Paul Pogba, Leonardo Bonucci, Radja Nainggolan, Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain have all been linked with a move to Chelsea in the past few days.
On Sunday, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport report Chelsea have already contacted the representatives of Miralem Pjanic, and negotiations are underway.
GdS insist Miralem Pjanic is on Antonio Conte's wish-list, and has agreed a €31m release clause in his contract. Pjanic has been in fine form this season, with 9 goals and 9 assists in 25 league games.
It's unlikely Inter would let Pjanic leave for anything less than his €31m fee, so it makes sense that Chelsea have directly started negotiations with his agent. They'd only get the player for the clause, so they may as well get his agreement before bothering to try and activate it.
GdS have also mentioned an article in English media that says "Why Pjanic is perfect for Chelsea" to explain the quality of the Bosnian international.

It's likely the Pjanic rumours are simply related to picking likely players from Serie A, and he's certainly a possibility if Conte, or anyone else, was looking toward the Italian league for transfer targets. We'd be surprised if the release is actually €31m, with them usually being a round figure.
That's it's likely started off as €30m and changed via media conversion to £ and then back to €, is perhaps closer to the truth and may see cracks appearing in the claims.
