Diego Costa and Atletico Madrid are keen on setting up a summer reunion, which may see the Chelseastar leave Stamford Bridge after just two seasons, according to reports from Fichajes.
The Spaniard, who was sent off at Everton in FA Cup action on Saturday, has enjoyed a good run of form since the arrival of Guus Hiddink in west London, but on the whole his season has been one to forget.
Even though he’s netted 11 goals in league action, Costa clashed with former manager Jose Mourinho on a number of occasions, while his petulant playing style has drawn widespread criticism.
However, despite his struggles, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is keen to lure the striker that fired his side to a shock La Liga win in 2013/14 back to the Vicente Calderon, and reports claim that the player is also keen on the potential move.
It’s understood that tentative plans are being put in place by both camps, and with Chelsea set to have a new manager in charge next term, Costa’s role at the club remains unclear.
