Incredible dashcam footage shows 'just married' driver take police on chase and crash into barriers

The driver is filmed swerving all over along Interstate 40 in Tennessee on Thursday and crashing into barriers.

Although it is unclear whether the driver had actually just married, they have now been arrested for dangerous driving .

An officer noticed the Chevy Equinox swerving and tried to stop the driver, but the motorist turned towards the patrol car and narrowly missed it.

Footage then shows the driver in the SUV speed off.

The driver appears to be hanging out the window waving towards the patrol car.

At one point the vehicle spins wildly out of control at a junction before the motorist regains its direction.

Shocking scenes show the SUV crash into a barrier, igniting sparks before it pulls into a turn-off and then dramatically changes direction.

The motorist is eventually filmed slowing down and stops in a restaurant parking lot.

Michael Smith, 27, was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with evading arrest, reckless endangerment , and reckless driving.
