[UPDATED] N4.7bn arms test: Obanikoro surrenders to EFCC

A previous Minister of Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, has answered to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Obanikoro was joined by eight partners and companions to the Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission around 1pm on Monday.

The previous Minister of State Defense touched base in Lagos from the United States on Monday and made a beeline for Abuja to keep the booked meeting with the commission.

The Head of Media and Publicity of EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, affirmed that Obanikoro had answered to the commission.

He said, "the previous Minister of State for Defense is with the commission."

The EFCC had welcomed Obanikoro to answer addresses in connection to N4.75bn arms reserves which were followed to him.

The EFCC is examining a firm, having a place two of Obanikoro's children, Sylvan McNamara, for getting N4.75bn arms reserves from the workplace of the previous National Security Adviser between April 4, 2014, and December 15, 2014.

The two children are Babajide Obanikoro and Gbolahan Obanikoro.

Agents responsible for the case are asserting with narrative evidence that a sum of N4.745bn was paid into the Diamond Bank record of Sylvan McNamara amid the period.

The organization which was fused in November 2011 had Ikenna Ezekwe, Idowu Oshodi and Elizabeth Adeniyi as executives.

Be that as it may, the organization set out to open a record with Diamond Bank Plc on May 7, 2016 with Gbolahan Obanikoro, Babajide Obanikoro, Ikenna Ezekwe and Theresa Matuluko as signatories.

The EFCC had solidified the record of the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, and the record of McNamara with Diamond Bank for claimed illicit exchange in June, 2016.
