Abedi Pele tips Nigeria to beat Cameroon to World Cup ticket

The Super Eagles are currently top of the Group B table with six points from two matches with the Indomitable Lions managing just two points from two matches.
African football legend, Abedi Ayew Pele has tipped the Super Eagles of Nigeria to secure qualification to the 2018 World Cup ahead of group opponents Cameroun, reports ghanasoccernet.com.
The Super Eagles are currently top of the Group B table with six points from two matches with the Indomitable Lions managing just two points from two matches. And the former Ghana captain believes that the Super Eagles are well placed to book a ticket to Russia despite Cameroun being current Africa champions.
“Nigeria and Ghana have plenty things in common and I must say if I’m not a Ghanaian, I would have been a Nigerian; we have so much in common and with that, I will predict wins in the two games for Nigeria,” Ayew told AOIFootball.com.
The Indomitable Lions are looking to cause a major setback to the Eagles when the two meet in Uyo for the World Cup qualifier on September 1, with the return leg expected four days later in Yaounde.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr is seriously considering handing CSKA Moscow striker, Aaron Samuel, a recall to the national team almost two years since he last featured for the country.
“The coach has asked for a background check on Aaron Samuel, it could be he is considering recalling him to the national team for the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon,” a source quoted.Nigeria is shopping for a traditional big centre-forward after Rohr admitted Kelechi Iheanacho is not cut out to lead the Eagles strike force.
