As we all know, Chelsea have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid hit man Radamel Falcao for a while now. We have heard all sorts of rumours and reports about a deal being agreed, varied reports on how much it would cost Chelsea to bring him here, reports that his is learning English etc etc..
It seems that Spanish TV station Punto Pelota has stated that a "secret meeting" took place last Sunday evening between Atletico and Chelsea to negotiate the transfer of the Columbian to Chelsea this summer. Press reports indicate that the fee would be around £5m more expensive than Chelsea believed they could get the deal done.
Now, if this report is true from Punto Pelota, then it's a massive step in the right direction for the club as we have all said before. You look at the way Chelsea have been playing their football recently and you can only imagine the difference having a predator in the box would make to the team.
Whether or not the deal (if it has been agreed) would include the likes of Courtois as part of the deal or even Fernando Torres going the other way is yet to be revealed.
If Chelsea can get this deal done and signed as soon as possible then for me it's a real signal of intent from Roman Abramovich once again and surely put Chelsea back in the hunt for MAJOR honours next season!
