HOW ERIN-ILE PEOPLE GOT THEIR LAND BY ALAFIN OF OYO

The Alafin of Oyo,Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi has told the Kwara State Boundary Settlement Commission that it was the Olofa of Offa,Oba Olalomi Olofa Gangan descendants that granted the Elerin of erin-ile the portions of land on which the erin-ile community now settle.The Alafin was testifying before the commission at a special sitting in his palace at Oyo,during the week when the panel probing the boundary dispute between the Olofa and erin-ile communities resumed sitting.
Oba Adeyemi told the commission that Olofa Gangan was the son of Oranyan who founded Oyo-Ile.
He said Olalomi was a hunter and had left Oyo on a hunting expedition and finally settled at Offa about 600 years ago.Before Olalomi left Oyo to settle at Offa.Alafin said,Oranyan had divided his Oyo kingdom into four namely:Ekuh Osun,Ekun,Osi Epo and Ibolo,adding that Olalomi settled at Offa on Ibolo land.The Olofa Olalomi,he went on having received permission to setttle where he did from Oranyan and was empowered to grant land to anybody on the ibolo land.Led by the Offa community leading counsel,Alhaji Babalakin the Alafin said ,Olofa Olalomi's descendant granted land to the people of Okuku,Irra,Erin-Ile,Asi,Ijagbo,Oyan and others.Adding that the elerin was under the Olofa...OFFA WA IYERUOKIN THE VOICE OF OLALOMI(VOO) reporting.
