Applications are hereby invited from suitable qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions that exist in the Cement Company of northern Nigeria Plc. located at KM 10, Kalambaina Road, Sokoto
Position:   Mechanical Engineer
Qualifications/Skills Requirement;
  • The candidate must possess a Bachelor of engineering degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering with at least a minimum of second class Honors lower division from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Project Management Professional Certificate will also be an added advantage
  • Coordinate the planned mechanical maintenance activities of production machines/equipment
  • Design, interpret and implement equipment monitoring strategies for the plants
  • Follow up With the procurement team to achieve quick turnaround  time of spare parts procurement
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, servicing and replacement to maintain optimum performance
  • Ensure mechanical safety of the plants
  • Candidates must possess at least 2 years post-NYSC cognate experience in a recognized manufacturing’ production company
  • Membership COREN will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency/competency in using AutoCAD ford design and modeling systems will be added advantage.
Position: Laboratory Chemist
Qualifications/Skills Requirement;
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science degree or its equivalent in Pure or Applied Chemistry with at least a minimum of second class Honors lower division from a recognized institution of higher learning
  • Candidate must possess at least 2 years post-NYSC cognate experience in a recognized manufacturing/ production company.
  • Analyze all samples (in-process/finished to ensure that parameters/values obtained are within company quality standards and customer specifications
  • Generate reliable analytical results that can be used to optimize plant/factory operations
  • Must be familiar with, and can handle basic laboratory equipment/apparatus
  • Mast have at least three years practical laboratory experience
  • Must have knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental practices
  • Must be able and willing to work shift
  • Must have basic knowledge of Industrial safety
  • ‘Must be physically fit, agile and health
  • Must be computer literate for effective report writing
Position; Quarry Officers
Qualifications/Skills Requirement;
  • Candidates must possess HND/ OND in Mining or mechanical engineering with 2-3 years experience in a recognized manufacturing/ production company.
  • Key responsibilities include schedule of equipment and manpower.
  • Identify raw materials requirements.
  • Ensure that plant equipments are fit and available for use
  • Liaise with maintenance department for both equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Candidate must possess strong analytical and problem solving capacities.
Position:  Electrical Engineer
Qualifications/Skills Requirement:
  • The candidate must possess a Bachelor of engineering degree or its equivalent in Electrical/Electronic engineering with at least a minimum of second class Honors lower division from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Candidate must possess at least 2 years post NYSC cognate experience in reputable product/manufacturing sector.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, servicing and replacement to maintain optimum performance.
  • Manage all me electrical systems in the factory to ensure optimum performance.
  • Ensure electrical safety of the plants.
  • PLC experience – hardware, software, interface (Allen Bradley, Omron; ABB)
  • Troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with others
  • Membership of COREN will be an added advantage.
  • Project Management Professional Certificate will also be an added advantage
  • Coordinate the planned electrical maintenance activities of the production machines
  • Analyze and review maintenance and production reports to highlight chronic, persistent electrical problem areas and direct corrective action to maximize efficiency and to minimize down time
  • Design, interpret and implement equipment monitoring strategies for the plants and follow-up with the procurement team to achieve quick turnaround time of spare parts procurement
  • Coordinate the activities of supervisors and resolve issues that come up in the course of production;
 Position:   Project Engineer
Qualifications/Skills Requirement:
  • The candidate must possess a Bachelor of Engineering degree or its equivalent in Mechanical engineering with at least a minimum of second class Honors lower division from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Candidate must possess at least 2 years post-NYSC cognate experience in a recognized manufacturing/ production company.
  • Membership of COREN will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency/company in using AutoCAD for design and modeling systems will be added advantage.
  • Coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure the equipments and systems conform to engineering design and plant specifications
  • Designs tools, equipments and systems to interface with machines operations
  • Conducts design review meetings with user departments
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, servicing and replacement to maintain optimum performance
  • Project Management Professional Certificate will also be an added advantage
  • Design, interpret and implement equipment monitoring strategies for the plants
  • Review and analyze user departments proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Plans and work with engineering support staff to create drawings and documentation; may also perform this work directly
Position: Audit Officers
Qualifications/Skills Requirement:
  • Candidate must possess B.Sc or HND in any Social Sciences with at least 2-3 years experience with emphasis on audit, revenue assurance and inventory management from a recognized manufacturing/production company
  • Must be computer literate with adequate working knowledge of window application software
  • Must possess strong numerical skills
  • Good oral and written communication  skills
  • Proven ability in understanding Accounts.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with others
  • Ability to gather information about the entities, processes, economic transactions and procedures in an unbiased manner
