Tottenham could make a move for Roma’s Pablo Osvaldo in the summer, according to talkSport. The striker boasts an impressive record in Serie A ever since joining Roma from Espanyol in 2011 and he’s hit 11 goals in 22 games so far this campaign. The Italian club could listen to offers for the forward and a move to the Premier League could potentially suit him.Andre Villas-Boas wants to add a couple of new strikers to his attacking line-up next season so he doesn’t end up short on options again. He failed to bring a new frontman to White Hart Lane in January, despite having only Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor at his disposal. Adebayor’s future with Spurs is uncertain, with the Togo forward enduring a difficult season this time around.A new striker is therefore a priority for Villas-Boas as he looks to turn Tottenham into a title chasing side in the 2013/14 season.
Qualification for the Champions League is a must this time around and his side are on course to finish in third position. That would allow them to attract the likes of Osvaldo to the Lane.
They could face serious competition for the striker’s signature, indeed Juventus are interested in keeping Osvaldo in Serie A. Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are also chasing the player, though Spurs would fancy their chances of luring him to England. Osvaldo is an Italian international, having scored three times in six games for the Azzurri.
