Barcelona 5-0 Real Mallorca

The Catalans dominated from the off and finally broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when Fabregas fired home from just inside the box.It didn't take them long to further their advantage either as Alexis Sanchez doubled the lead just two minutes later.

Fabregas was at it again on 37 minutes, firing home with his right foot and once again Sanchez followed it up a minute later to send his side in 4-0 up at the break. The former Arsenal man was obviously full of confidence and in the first minute of the second half he completed his hat-trick thanks to cool finish after latching onto Andres Iniesta's through ball.

Despite the Catalans' best efforts, the game fell flat for a while after that but there was an extremely poignant moment on 70 minutes, as Eric Abidal returned to the field for the first time for almost a year following his liver transplant, replacing Gerard Pique in the heart of the defence.Tito Vilanova's men continued to push but they couldn't add to their lead although the victory does see them restore their 15 point lead at the top of the table while for Mallorca, they now have eight games to save their La Liga status.
