More than 250 people attended a student singing showcase and fundraiser at UC Irvine on Jan. 16.
The “Ken-Ya Sing” event was hosted by the UC Irvine chapter of Kenya Dream, an organization that fundraises for educational projects and sponsors students in Africa.

Kenya Dream raised about $3,600 from the event that will be used to sponsor two students with tuition and educational materials through The School Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance for underprivileged and impoverished students across the globe.

The event featured student and alumni performers and professional music artists including headliners Andrew Garcia, J.R. Aquino and Jeff Bernat.
