Despite calling off her engagement, the former Brookside actress insisted: "I love being pregnant – it just feels exactly the right time in my life."
The mum-to-be kept mum about her pregnancy until she'd had her three-month scan as she's previously suffered two miscarriages and spoke of Dan's shared delight.
"He was thrilled and said it was the best news he'd had in his life. Everyone looks at me and thinks 'oh no, they've split up, what a nightmare,' but we're fine," the 43-year-old revealed.
Claire – who is 22 weeks pregnant – couldn't wait to share the sex of her first baby and beamed about having already picked out a name.
"I'm having a boy and I'm calling him Gabriel because he's my little angel sent from heaven," she said.

"I thought it was a beautiful name but I might see him and decide on something else," the Scouse beauty added.
Claire – who is due to give birth to her son on October 5th – insisted her and Daniel are still on good terms and their priority is their baby.
"It was all very amicable, we're still friends and it's great that he wants to be involved with the baby," she said.
However, she's not ruled out a reconciliation and added: "Who knows what the future holds? The priority for us at the moment is to get through the pregnancy peacefully."
