I’m not intimidated by Jonathan

I’m not intimidated by Jonathan’s visit – Bamidele

The Labour Party governorship candidate, Opeyemi Bamidele, on Saturday, said that he was not intimidated by President Goodluck Joathan’s visit to the state to campaign and hand over the Peoples Democratic Party flag to its candidate, Ayodele Fayose.

In a statement by his media aide, Ahmed Salami, Bamidele said Jonathan’s visit was normal in a growing democracy where all parties should canvass for the vote of the electorate unlike the “intolerance and intimidation of the present All Progressives Congress administration to the opposition.”

“In developed democracy, all parties should present their credentials as to why they should be elected so party campaign and rallies are usual occurrence in proper democracy.

“ However, the Ekiti people know who they want, which party they will vote for, the party of the masses, the party that shares the passion of the workers, the party that has the family as its bedrock, the Labour Party, come June 21, 2014, Ekiti kete will vote for Opeyemi Bamidele,” he said.

On Wednesday, Bamidele unveiled his manifesto and blueprint for the growth and development of Ekiti State, where he said workers welfare and development, population and rural transformation, good governance and improved security, quality education, health care development, social amenities as well as water resources and inter regional transportation were his priorities.

Bamidele said, “LP government in Nigeria has proved that governance is about the people and should be for uplifting the living standard of the citizen. I am the most equipped, experienced and prepared for the task of building a new and united Ekiti. So, we do not see any reason to be intimidated rather we are thankful that the people of Ekiti have chosen to follow their heart and the party that would better their lot, the Labour Party come June 21, 2014.”
