Sambo meets aggrieved PDP aspirants
Vice-President Namadi Sambo met aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship aspirants and other stakeholders in Ekiti State on Sunday.
The meeting at Pathfinder Hotel in Ado-Ekiti was held amid tight security.
It was to promote unity and reconcile aggrieved members in the state in order to work for the governorship candidate, Mr. Ayo Fayose.
One of the aspirants, Senator Gbenga Aluko, was however absent from the meeting.
There had been rumor of his plan to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state.
The Chairman, Ekiti PDP, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, said the vice president at the meeting expressed joy at the crowd witnessed on Saturday when Fayose received the flag of the party.
Ogundipe, however, claimed that Aluko called to inform he was out of town, adding that his absent was not intentional.
“The chairman of the aggrieved aspirants, Biodun Aluko, was there. All the aspirants gave us assurances that they are working together with our candidate. All their grievances are being addressed,” he added.
