Keshi And Odemwingie Insist, Eagles Best Yet To Come.
After the Super Eagles impressive performance against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday, the gaffer of the Nigerian national football team, Stephen Keshi and goal scorer against Bosnia, Peter Odemwingie have reviewed the performance of the team in their second match at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil and came up with a submission that the team is yet to hit form.
Stephen Keshi who played for Nigeria at the USA 94 World Cup said he will continue to ensure he gets the team in the right frame of mind for the tournament but noted that the players are just coming up.
“The annoying thing is that the team gets criticized unnecessarily back home. When that comes from the man on the street you can understand but when people who should know like ex-footballers criticize the team, I don’t enjoy it at all but the players have shown that they are good enough for the World Cup but they are yet to play to full potential,” said Keshi.
Odemwingie who scored against his Stoke City team mate, Asmir Begovic said at the post match media parley that the Super Eagles has what it takes to reach the final if the players play to their true potential.
“I saw a Brazilian on the street who told me he foresaw Nigeria playing the final against Brazil and I said to myself why not, going by the level of our players and the fact that they are yet to peak,” said Osaze.
The former, AS Racine of Lagos forward said the goal also served as a compensation for him missing out of last year’s Nations Cup in South Africa.
“But mark my words we have a very resilient defence, a creative midfield and an attack force that can trouble any defence in the world if we play to our potentials we can go all the way,” Peter said confidently.
