MANCHESTER UNITED chiefs have given the green light on a £100,000 per-week deal to lure Southampton star Luke Shaw to Old Trafford.

Reports claim that United's bid for the youngster has intensified in recent weeks and a bumper pay-packet proves just how serious United are.
The 18-year-old is reported to have told Southampton that he wanted to leave for United on the final day of the Premier League season.
And his eagerness to leave has yet to relent.
Shaw still has four-years remaining on his current Saints deal and if they agree to the sale of their prized left-back, a fee in excess of £27m can realistically be expected.
New boss Ronald Koeman is said to be under no financial obligation to sell the defender, however the opportunity to cash in on a player intent on leaving could prove better business.
But if Van Gaal's rival Dutchman Koeman decides to block the transfer, United will turn to Ajax’s Daley Blind who has given a superb account of himself during the World Cup.
Shaw will be given the opportunity to display his credentials on the world stage tomorrow.
