NAMA Boss Assures Air Travellers on Safety

The Managing Director of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, has assured the travelling public of their safety within the nation’s airspace. According to him, "all communication, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management facilities of the agency are working at optimal levels."
He made this known at the aviation family forum organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in honour of Mr. Basil Agboarumi who was recently elevated to the position of General Manager, Corporate Communications, Skyway Aviation Handling Company limited (SAHCOL) held at NAMA Headquarters, Lagos. Abdulsalam added that the agency has completed the installation of new solar runway lighting systems at the Lagos and Port Harcourt International airports to further enhance safety of flight operations at all times and in all weather conditions.
The NAMA boss affirmed that the agency "upholds the highest standards in air traffic management as the vision of the agency is to be one of the leading air navigation service providers in the world." He also applauded the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for its professionalism, excellence and transparency, saying that “through various trainings, workshops and seminars, NIPR has moulded icons whose contributions to the Nigerian economy have been legendary producing the likes of Mr. Agboarumi who is a valuable product of this reputable institute." He enjoined all members of NIPR to imbibe and assimilate the code of ethics of the noble profession as the sustenance of the Nigerian project largely depends on them, noting that PR is an integral aspect of the world economy as no business can survive without it.
Speaking at the forum, the National President of NIPR, Dr. Rotimi Oladele, said that ‘’there is a visible indicator that the aviation industry is growing but there is need to support the industry to grow through aggressive information management."
