Senior Technologist - Materials - Polymers - Plastics - Materials Science - Permanent - Shropshire - £25-£30K

A leading materials and testing organisation are seeking a self-motivated Senior Technologist to take on a key role in the area of polymer materials technology and product performance. You will technically lead major activities within high profile, EU funded collaborative research projects. Not only will you be defining the technical scope of projects, you will also assist in technical polymer processing trials.

You will ideally be graduate or equivalent in Material Science, Polymer Science or Chemistry and you will need to bring a high level of expertise and professionalism in all aspects of technical management and consultancy. You'll have impressive presentation, report-writing, planning, co-ordinating and problem-solving skills, along with a good general knowledge of polymers and their uses. In addition to these technical skills, you will have self-motivation, commercial awareness and the ability to provide technical input. A willingness to undertake some travel both in the UK and internationally will be expected.
Required Qualifications & Experience
*Degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science or Chemistry
*Expertise in Technical Management & Consultancy
*Strong planning, co-ordinating and problem solving skills
*Possess excellent communication and time management skills
*Good general knowledge of polymers and their uses
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
*PhD in Polymer Processing or Polymer related subject
*Experience of EU funded research projects
*Commercial awareness, presentation and training skills
*Understanding of the sales process
*Capability to cost out project work
