Arsenal sign another classy German from Barcelona

It has been confirmed that Arsene have acquired yet another brilliant German youngster from Barcelona’s La Masia Academy. The 15 year-old German youth international Georgios Spanoudakis (he has Greek parents would you believe!) started off in Frankfurt but was persuaded to move to Barcelona in 2009.
He has already played for the German national team U15 and U16 sides, but it is believed that the Greek FA are trying to get him to take his parents country as his own as his ability is well-known all over Europe.
Spanoudakis is decribed as being “known for his technical skills and passing ability” according to Jorge Bird’s Arsenal Youth Blog and is expected to be a big star of the future, whichever country he plays for.
Arsenal are very well-known for taking many youngsters away from Barcelona and this new deal is hardly likely to help the Gunners reputation at the Catalan club, but their loss is Arsenal’s gain! In the past Arsene Wenger has persuaded the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Fran Merida, Jon Toral, Hector Bellerin and Julio Pleguezuelo to come to Arsenal from Barcelona.
We should expect to see Spanoudakis feature regularly for the U18 side for the next few years and he already had a run-out against Lincoln City last night, which saw Arsenal win 1-0 thanks to a brilliant free-kick from Ben Sheaf.
