Johnson Matthey's Emission Control Technologies Division is a world leader in the development and manufacture of catalytic emission control systems for gasoline and diesel applications.
Due to continued success and expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Process Development Engineer to join our company and support our European Technology Centre based in Royston.


This position is a wide-ranging and challenging role, providing excellent opportunities to utilise and develop technical engineering ability and project management skills.

Key accountabilities in the role include:
• Project management of equipment installations within the pilot plant facilities of ECT Technology, leading all aspects of the project from generating technical specifications through to installation and commissioning.
• Provide technical support during the design, installation and commissioning of new equipment and production lines within ECT Operations.
This will necessitate onsite support during the start-up and initial validation phases.
• Accountable for engineering support during the scale-up and transfer of new product introductions (NPI) to ECT Operations.
This will include overcoming existing manufacturing issues to achieve required attainment levels and product specifications.
• Manage the implementation of novel processing and measurement solutions to help streamline current manufacturing methods and to achieve product specifications required for future legislation.

The successful candidate should possess either a Degree or Masters in Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
The role requires previous industrial experience, with capital project management and advanced technical process knowledge being considered advantageous.
Additionally, the successful candidate must possess proven written and oral communication skills and be able to display a clear ability to successfully manage their own time and workload.
This includes being able to communicate and engage effectively with staff throughout the ECT business.

Key to being successful in the role is a flexible approach to work in order to deliver the requirements of the business with the additional requirement for international travel in order to support our global manufacturing operations.
