Cancer Research Technology (CRT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cancer Research UK, is a vibrant drug discovery, technology transfer and commercialisation company which aims to advance new discoveries to beat cancer. To help achieve this goal CRT has its own drug discovery laboratories, CRTDL based at locations in Central London and Cambridge.
CRTDL is dedicated to helping cancer patients through establishing and prosecuting theme-based alliances with industry. We bring together multiple PIs and industry resource to discover and develop novel therapies. Our pioneering model has already resulted in cancer drug discovery alliances with major partners including AstraZeneca, Forma Therapeutics and Teva Pharmaceutical.
In this fast evolving industry and as part of our drive to deliver our portfolio we are currently recruiting a specialist in Compound Management to work at our Cambridge site within our Discovery Bioscience group. The successful candidate will have expertise in compound management and sample tracking processes, using various technologies associated with sample handling systems (especially acoustic dispensing) all with strong focus on small molecules libraries, in-depth knowledge of automated system would be highly desirable. The role requires understanding of small molecule storage techniques and industry standards, experience in analytical chemistry would be highly advantageous to this role.
You should be qualified to degree level (chemistry or life science background) or have relevant 2-5 years industrial experience. This is very much a hands on role providing compounds and assay ready plate to our scientists; we expect the candidate to be precise and accurate, to have excellent organisation skills with the ability to multitask across projects. In addition, the successful candidate should possess excellent communication and organisation skills and the ability to work in a team environment to specific project deadlines.
