We are seeking a highly motivated individual to support Translational Medicine efforts in the Oncology therapeutic area. A key focus of the work will be to impact clinical and pre-clinical stage programs through the design and direction of laboratory and clinical research. The position requires participation and interaction with research, clinical and regulatory project teams as well as external collaborators and contract organizations.      

 Required Education and Experience:
  • MS Degree with 10-13 years of experience or a PhD or MD with 3 - 7 years of experience in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology or other relevant discipline with a specialization in oncology and immunology
  • Demonstrated ability to lead translational and biomarker approaches in oncology and immunology, preferentially with a focus on immune-mediated approaches to cancer therapy, as evidenced by previous research experience and relevant first or last author publication record
  • Hands on experience with a wide variety of cell and molecular biology techniques and demonstrated ability to lead other lab based personnel while working side-by-side in the labs
  • Demonstrated experience in generating and integrating exploratory biomarker approaches into clinical development decisions
  • Demonstrates scientific rigor in assessing own data and that of others
  • Initiates, implements, plans, direct, and execute scientific research under general supervision
  • Independent and creative thinker
  • Maintains high level of scientific expertise through review of literature and other sources
  • The candidate must be able to lead and have in-depth knowledge in oncology, immunology and immune-mediated approaches to cancer therapy as evidenced by previous research emphasis and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Requires the ability to clearly integrate and communicate rationale and decisions that will result from translational/biomarker integration into projects.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in cross functional and governance discussions and to generate precise technical reports is critical.
  • A willingness to serve as a mentor and act as a positive role model to other lab personnel is also required.
