Liverpool have announced a 23-man squad prior to their friendly against Danish side Brondby that takes place tonight.
The squad features several loanees from last season returning to be involved for the Reds, including Fabio Boroni, who had success with Sunderland, Tiago Illori, Jordan Ibe, Suso, Andre Wisdom and Conor Coday.
Chance to impress
The game will give the players a chance to impress Brendan Rogers as they try to take a firm grip on their fate at the club for the upcoming season. The Northern Irishman has a number of big decision to make ahead of a crack at the title.
Daniel Agger will return to his native country and plays against the side who sold him to Liverpool in 2006 for £6million, and it is likely he will captain the side.
Other first team players who feature for Liverpool include Phillipe Coutinho, Martin Skrtel, Jon Flanagan, Joe Allen, Martin Kelly and Lucas Leiva.
Chance for youngsters
Rogers has also give some of the youngsters their chance as Brad Smith, who made his debut last season, makes the squad, along with Adam Phillips, new signing Kevin Smith and Jordan Rossiter, dubbed as 'potentially a new Steven Gerrard' by Kop legend Robbie Fowler in 2013.
The squad will not feature any of Liverpool's latest signing. It is a surprise that Rickie Lambert does not make the squad though, since the England striker returned to training a week early following this summer's World Cup exit.
The full squad is as follows:
Jones, Agger, Coutinho, Lucas, Allen, Ilori, Borini, Suso, Ibe, Kelly, Coady, Skrtel, Flanagan, Adorjan, Smith, Phillips, Rossiter, Wisdom, Jones, Ward, Teixeira, Peterson, Stewart.
