The duo of Nigerian youngster Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidebere Nwakali were omitted from Manchester City 25 man squad that will tour the USA as part of its preseason.
Nwakali and Iheanacho have been part of the first team preseason training activities but both were not named in the team's first two games in Scotland.
Although both players only sign pre contracts with the premiership giant as they are yet to clock 18 years old, it was hoped they will be given game time to prove their worth to their employers.
Their pre contract will become a professional deal when they turn 18 and it is believed a loan spell will be beneficial to their career growth.
Despite their involvement with the team in preseason and the assurance of a professional deal, back home in Nigeria they are fears and concerns that their career won't develop at the Etihad.
The fears and concerns is borne out of the fact that Manchester City rarely promotes from their B team and in their present senior squad only Micah Richards and Joe Hart rose through the ranks at Eastlands.
Iheanacho MVP at the last Under-17 World Cup and silver boot winner as Nigeria lifted the trophy snubbed a move to Sporting Lisbon in favour of Manchester City.
Nwakali was a part of that same team but was sparingly used.
In the USA Manchester City will play against Sporting Kansas on Thursday, before they compete with AC Milan, Liverpool and Olympiacos for the Guinness International Champions Cup.
A number of City players involved in the World Cup in Brazil will join up with the rest of the squad on Thursday.
