Chelsea are reportedly considering a bid for Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.
The Blues are on the hunt for another striker, despite signing Alvaro Morata earlier this summer to replace Diego Costa, who is currently staying away from the club as the row over his future rumbles on.
According to The Mirror, the Blues are now eyeing England striker Vardy, who has scored 37 Premier League goals over the last two seasons.
Their story claims: “Foxes forward Vardy, 30, fits the profile for the Blues as an experienced player who is available for a lower fee than someone in the peak years of their career.”
Chelsea are also said to be closing in on Vardy’s team-mate Danny Drinkwater, with the midfielder one of the many players to have sat out the opening matches of the season with injury while speculation persists over a transfer.
The two clubs are said to remain some way off an agreement for Drinkwater but the champions are aware the midfielder wants to make the move.
