Jose Mourinho has reportedly fallen out with both Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera.
Pogba faces around six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury sustained in the 3-0 Champions League win over Basel in midweek.
According to The Sun, Mourinho has been left ‘furious’ by the midfielder, who is being blamed for ‘ignoring medical advice’ in the aftermath of the incident.
Pogba missed three games with a similar injury last season, and The Sun report that he ‘was given clear instructions by United medical staff to prevent any recurrence’.
The 24-year-old instead opted to seek treatment from a personal trainer however, which Mourinho and his United medics feel has ‘made the midfielder far more vulnerable to injury’.
Pogba is likely to be replaced in the coming weeks by Herrera, but the Daily Mail claim that Mourinho has fallen out with the Spaniard too.
They report that Herrera ‘upset’ the manager at the end of last season after he ‘innocently invited’ a friend to the club’s training ground who has ‘close links’ to Celta Vigo – United’s Europa League semi-final opponents.
Mourinho delivered a ‘dressing down’ to Herrera after recognising the individual, and the midfielder has ‘fallen out of favour’ since. A source claims that the ‘dynamic’ between the two is no longer the same.
Herrera has started just one game so far this season, and was not even part of the matchday squad for the game with Basel. Mourinho claimed at the time that there were “no reasons” in particular to omit the Spaniard.
