Bayern Munich and Malaga completed the final eight in the UEFA Champions League

Bayern Munich and Malaga completed the final eight in the UEFA Champions League. Bayern, which survived a 2-0 loss at home to Arsenal, is an old hat at the Champions League with 11 appearances in the final eight. In its first season in the UEFA Champions League, Malaga is the lone quarterfinalist in the final eight for the first time after beating Porto, 2-0, to advance, 2-1, on aggregate.

Spain leads all countries with three teams in the final eight: Barcelona, Real Madrid and Malaga. It's the first time in a decade three La Liga teams made the quarterfinals. In 2001, 2002 and 2003, Spain had three clubs made the final eight.
