I Wont Reject Coaching Offer

Nigerian born Uefa ‘A’ licensed coach, Clement Temile has said he will not turn down an offer to handle any of the national team. The former manager of an English non-league football side, Kentish Town, said he is in the country to lend his expertise to the development of the round leather game.“I’ve always wanted to come back home to contribute my quota to the growth of football in Nigeria. No matter where one lives home will always be home.“But I was never in a hurry to do that because I had to equip myself adequately for the job so that both my international exposure and qualifications will speak for me.

“I’m offering my services to truly professional and serious-minded entities where football is the only language spoken. These include clubs, national teams as well as states desirous to develop football from the grassroots.“If I’m offered job in any of the national sides I won’t reject or accept it on its face value but weigh the offer to see how it suits my vision to develop the game at the grassroots. If it won’t kill my pet project of grassroots football development, fine, if not I will turn it down,” said the former Nigerian winger, who is fondly remembered for his brilliant brace in the 2-2 draw against Malawi at the 1984 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, to supersport.com.

Temile said he is not in a hurry to assume the coaching job position but will want to lay a solid foundation for the discovery and nurturing of hidden talents.“I’m not in a hurry to come into football directly as coach but to give back to the country what it gave me as player by ensuring that there is a strong platform to scout hidden talents.“I think we can do better than we’re doing at present if the grassroots was properly harnessed,” said the former Olympiakos Nicosia forward. The father of Israeli international, Toto Tamuz Temile said he would have loved his son to play for fatherland as he did.

“I would have loved to see him play for Nigeria. Berti Vogts as Nigerian manager invited him to camp but the Israeli government acted fast by giving him his first cap. Of course, once a child is above 18 years he appears to talk and choose for himself,” said the former Israeli side, Beitar Netanya player.
